From Miss Bully to Miss Asia 2018, meet Tanya Mittal!

Meet Tanya Mittal, a small-town girl who has made India proud and was applauded by Pranav Mukherjee for her exceptional achievements on an International Level. With over 400,000 followers on Instagram and a company that generates seven figures income, this 25 yr old is an inspiration for many.

A cliché story of a girl starts with studying to attaining a recognized degree, to garner her family’s good reputation, followed by capturing the best job opportunities and leaving the house with her beloved husband. However, the only element it lacks is “Meaning”.

She says, “I was on the same track a few years back. My journey from being an ordinary girl to an extraordinary business and style icon undoubtedly justifies the phrase, “Human life is a roller-coaster ride”.”

Her list of accomplishments starts from owning an over 200,000 customers homegrown business to winning a beauty pageant and giving Ted talks and motivational speeches. She is the very definition of a “Beauty with Brain”, who has been phased by adversities and always has been the strongest pillar of strength.

She adds, “There were numerous ups and downs on my journey. It all started with my ostensibly disastrous decision to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture at Chandigarh University. I was a victim of body shaming, bullying, and depression, so I packed my belongings and left the dull abode. My parents were even more upset about my future challenges when I returned home. .”

“After a brainstorming session, I wrote down a list of things I have as capital for my business. With fewer resources, I carved my first design of a gift that a woman ordered. However, this happiness was temporary as she refused to accept and pay me for it. My heart sank in despair. The next day, I woke up with a new energy level with a firm decision to never give up no matter what. I started planning several ways to gain more orders and serve a good number of clients.”

This young woman started her beautiful handicraft business in her late teens, with a mere investment of Rs. 500/-. It now has over 4 lakh followers and the prestigious title of “Youngest Woman Achiever by Shashi Tharoor”. She has given three TEDx speeches all over the country already. She has written a book, “Turning Dreams into Reality”, in 2020. Her goal is to inspire youngsters never to give up nor question their self-worth.

Her journey:

“There was still a massive void in my life. So I started discovering ways to improve myself, and I decided to go for a Pageant. The moment I entered the workshop, they mocked, “You are fat”. It pinched me and tore my heart. So I went back, trained myself, and lost 12 kgs in a couple of weeks. Walking my way to the glory of Miss India Tourism Universe, I represented India for the pageant contest. I made our nation proud by winning the Crown and bringing it to India for the first time.

I worked hard with passion and attained the title of Miss Asia. The journey of becoming Miss Asia 2018 was unique as it had a minute and profound experience. One such elating moment was the preliminary midnight contest where all the representatives were asked to be present for the judgment. All the contestants wore eccentric outfits and rigid makeup. However, I walked on the ramp with confidence, even in my nightsuit and plaits. To everyone’s awe, I scored a cent percent in that contest, being the first one ever to do so. The reason behind this achievement was self-love and confidence.

The constant thing through this changing period was my firm belief in myself and the almighty. As a result, I won many battles and broke the norms of society. I believe that clinging to your dreams may sometimes hurt you and requires sacrifices, but it promises goodness to you in return for eternity.”

She feels that the hardships she faced as a kid pushed her to enroll in the fashion college. She is also the Director of Amritesh Infraventures Pvt. Ltd and a philanthropist who always aims to give back to society. She is the director of Bliss Foundation, an organization that works to uplift society. She is also a foster mother of two kids whose entire educational needs are cared for by her. She has adopted a small village named Tikli near Gwalior, where she takes care that sanitary napkins to reach each woman. She also feels strongly feel for animals and is associated with Peta and several NGOs in Delhi.

Her Mantra is: “No one in the world is like you & that is your Super Power.”
