Kanika, A LinkedIn Influencer, Helping Thousands to Find Jobs in the Pandemic

On the one hand, many companies were laying off their employees due to the pandemic. On the other hand, we have people like Kanika Kulshreshtha, who has been selflessly helping thousands of job seekers find jobs through her LinkedIn network.

Kanika, a former theatre artist, turned into a passionate Job search strategist and LinkedIn expert, currently regarded as one of India’s fastest growing influencers on LinkedIn. She has gained over 75k followers with around 15 million views on LinkedIn in 8 months. She is proactively helping thousands of job seekers by sharing genuine job postings on her LinkedIn profile and is also helping them to connect with hiring managers directly. She has helped thousands of people get into Amazon, EY, KPMG, PwC, Tech Mahindra, Zomato, GT, TCS, Wipro and many more in the last eight months. She also shares Job search, Interview techniques and has also been whistleblowing against fake profiles on LinkedIn who share phoney job postings to collect data and gain followers. Being a corporate trainer and having conducted multiple corporate training sessions for JK Lakshmi Cement, NTPC, Udayan care and several other organisations, her motive of being on LinkedIn was to connect with corporates.

However, when she noticed the plight of several people desperately searching for jobs and who were also falling victims to fake job posts, she decided to share jobs weekly where one can directly connect with the hiring manager. What started as a selfless gesture of helping people has now turned into a mammoth initiative. She has shared over 10000 jobs on which more than 6 million job seekers have directly engaged with the opportunities shared.

In the pandemic, she has brought light to the lives of thousands of people who were looking. Before this journey, Kanika’s active involvement in the theatre saw her perform in over 50 theatre plays. Still, after being diagnosed with cancer at a tender age, she had to quit performing acts and was knocked to a different light.

However, her Never Give-Up and Positive attitude opened new pathways for her as a corporate trainer and a Full-time job search strategist. In her personal life, she is a cheerful individual who holds her friends and family very dear to herself and is also very passionate about fitness and health. She actively participates in sessions and maintains a healthy diet.

Kanika says, “One of the reasons why most people are not able to find jobs on Linkedin is that they are not using it right. LinkedIn is much more than a platform to simply click on the apply button on jobs and add connections. LinkedIn is not a Job finder; it is a people finder. If you judiciously use LinkedIn to connect with employers and hiring managers, the chances of landing your favourite job increase through these referrals.”
