CareerInPharma: Leverage your medical expertise in rewarding pharma careers

New Delhi (India), January 31In the booming environment of today’s tech-enabled education, CareerInPharma is a premier Edtech start-up from India that targets aspirants who want to succeed in the pharmaceutical industry. Founded in July 2021, the initiative began with delivering live weekend classes for job-focused diplomas in clinical research and pharmacovigilance for healthcare professionals.

The guiding thought behind the initiative is to rope in well-trained medical professionals and others from allied fields into rewarding careers in the pharmaceutical industry. The idea to help healthcare professionals move to the pharma sector sprung from seeing the pandemic struggles of several doctors and healthcare workers.

Furthermore, in her own pursuit of a successful career in dentistry, the founder and Director of CareerInPharma, Dr. Neema Bisht, who completed her Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 2008 and ran her own dental clinic for 9 years, observed that often medical practitioners have to constantly navigate major problems such as low income, intense competition, low patient awareness, negligible work-life balance, and high costs of running private practices, among others.

Bifurcating the odds of practicing medicine, the Bangalore-based dentist decided to channel her medical training into the pharmaceutical sector. She made a successful job transition, having completed her training in the pharma domain from an institute.

Culling from the extensive experience and insights of her personal career, with CareerInPharma, Dr. Neema is on a mission to transform the career of several trained healthcare workers; indicating this goal, the motto of the brand is “Transformation, not Information.”

One of the key roles of the initiative is to raise awareness among doctors that clinical practice is not the only way to earn good money. Instead, Dr. Neema strives to demonstrate how to secure financial stability and work-life balance via a lucrative position in the pharmaceutical industry where one can effectively utilize one’s medical expertise without excessive labor.

The effective identification of the prevalent problems in healthcare-oriented careers and CareerInPharma’s proactive measures to help its cohort secure well-paying jobs have made the initiative grow from the initial 10-15 students to over 500 by December 2022. Additionally, with the growing number of students, the company took the leap of going from live classes to pre-recorded ones, to offer prolonged access to the programs. Currently, the programs attract students from all around the world, including India, UAE, Qatar, Canada, USA as well as European countries.

With the programs, grooming medical students and life science graduates for prosperous jobs in clinical research, pharmacovigilance, clinical data management, and medical writing, in the coming years, CareerInPharma’s mission is to guide and train more than 1,00000 healthcare professionals to attain financial stability through careers in the pharmaceutical industry.
