How does an HR Tech solution empower the workforce?
September 8: Since the COVID-19 Pandemic, many business models and companies have been forced to put the brakes hard on their operational processes. However, the companies which had invested in HR tech solutions enabled and ensured that their organizations made a smooth transition to remote/hybrid working.
Research also confirms how companies and firms that invested in HR Tech solutions utilized these tools to manage priorities effectively and efficiently during the tough times of the pandemic, while organizations that failed to approach and assimilate the emerging trends in the HR world were much less likely to achieve business goals.
A recent survey conducted by OnePoll and commissioned by Paycom reports that 77% of employees are frustrated with outdated technology in their workspaces. A staggering 67% said that they would be willing to take a pay cut to have software and technology that is twice as good as what they are currently using.
With the emergence of novel technological solutions, HR management is slowly evolving into e-HR, a more technology-based profession which is helping empower its workforce. Employee self-service (ESS)
Employee self-service is an effective approach by which employees access and maintain their HR and work related data. Nearly 90 per cent of organizations which were recently surveyed indicated they had or were planning to implement self-service applications. Often enabled through the HR portal, ESS websites allow many HR questions and transactions to be handled directly by employees. For employees, it means convenience, while for the management, it means transparency, and for the HR team, it means more time to focus on non-administrative strategic work – win-win.
Changing Technology, Changing Workplace
Workplace safety, which has been the primary concern of the employees since the pandemic, has led companies to invest more in HR technology. As per a Deloitte study of employees in five different industrial economies, employees who regard their physical workplace and working environment as inclusive and flexible are more engaged and feel more connected with their employer. The seamless adaptation of the concept of work from home or remote working has become a possibility only because of the increasing use of HR tech solutions.
